American Sleep Paralysis

American Sleep Paralysis is a photographic series focused on low income and minority communities exposure to dangerous chemicals through food and poor living conditions. This photo series depicts dietary staples, water, sugar, protein, processed foods, bread, air, and meat. Each piece is titled after the staple's chemical components that have been proven to cause serious health complications when ingested in large doses. These works strive to peel back a layer of reality to show the deceitful game consumer capitalism plays with our health and our livelihood.

"... Rabbit highlights the hypocrisy of our modern belief systems by juxtaposing our delusional expectations for the world against the uncomfortable and unhealthy realities underlying those ideals. Rabbit’s work makes it clear to the viewer that we cannot always trust exactly what we see. " - Alfa Art Gallery
